De Karen Hood, ontworpen door Kirsten Nørgaard (Norgardknit), is een moderne interpretatie van twee iconische Marianne Isager ontwerpen uit de jaren 80 en 90: Marocco en Hjælm. Het ontwerp combineert het grafische zigzagpatroon van Marocco met de warme functionaliteit van de balaclava.
De diagonale zigzaglijnen vormen de basis van de constructie en geven de hood zijn krachtige, grafische uitstraling. De achterkant heeft een klassieke driehoekige sjaalvorm, terwijl de voorkant functioneert als een praktische en warme neckwarmer met knopen. Dit maakt de Karen Hood zowel stijlvol als comfortabel — een vrouwelijk accessoire met karakter.
De kit bevat voldoende wol voor zowel de Karen Hood als Karen Mittens:

– 50 gram Isager Silk Mohair 6
– 50 gram Isager Trio 1 Bordeaux
– 50 gram Isager Highland Chili
– 50 gram Isager Bouclé 33

De combinatie van Isager Soft met Silk Mohair zorgt voor zachtheid en luxe, terwijl de contraststrepen extra diepte krijgen door de structuur van Trio 1, Highland en Bouclé. Dit spel van texturen geeft de Karen Hood een rijke, gelaagde uitstraling.

CONSTRUCTION
KAREN HOOD uses many different knitting techniques. It is worked from the top down. The triangle top is worked first. Stitches are knitted up along two sides and worked back and forth with increases and decreases to create the shaping and zigzag pattern. At the same time, the contrast stripes are knitted. At shoulder level, the back and fronts are separated to create slits. The hood is finished with an I-cord at the bottom and a button band in double knitting around the opening.
